When an explosive Detroit jazz sextet begins rehearsing in a desolate industrial lounge, their music awakens iconic producer Warren Defever from a transcendental hibernation and, guided by unseen forces, he drives his classic Ford to where they are playing, and utilizing vintage gear and old school recording techniques, captures and inspires—live on tape—the band’s virtuoso, unrivaled performance.

About the Director
Robin Scovill’s films have premiered at Sundance, Toronto, and AFI. His documentary, THE OTHER SIDE OF AIDS won the Special Jury Prize at the AFI Los Angeles International Film Festival and was sold for broadcast to MTV. He has written and directed videos and ad campaigns for numerous clients and is CEO of Paradise Valley Investment Group, a company revitalizing properties in Detroit. Mr. Scovill’s creativity and leadership consistently attracts top collaborators and produces inspiring results.
