Everyone was feeling down and confused after the horrible incident in Charlottesville this summer. Shortly after the incident, legendary guitarist/producer Gerry Leonard performed in a NYC club, and he dedicated Pray-Er to all of us, to help us through our divided times. We made this film to help us feel hopeful; we are glad others find it helpful too.
About the Director
Award-winning, NYC-based filmmaker Joeann Calabrese started her filmmaking career while working at MTV Networks as a technical director. She then moved to the historic Kaufman Astoria Studios while completing graduate studies at Columbia University’s Teachers College. Her films are created in a documentary/educational style and have been screened in NYC, London and Berlin; she received 7 film awards in 2017. Pray-Er (the song) is written and composed by legendary guitarist/producer Gerry Leonard.
