On a rainy afternoon in a British nursing home, a woman struggles to make a last connection with her seemingly catatonic mother. The Daughter, grown and grappling with who she wants to be, flirts with revealing her true feelings to a parent who cannot respond. As the Daughter struggles to get to the true purpose of her visit, pieces of her words trigger flashes of memories and dream-like images inside the Mother’s mind. As the Daughter speaks, the Mother experiences a life before she had children, and a sense of freedom that had long since died.
