What started out as three guys curious about the mysterious worlds hiding behind some hallucinogenics became a visually and auditory rich journey. Reality and fantasy become intertwined into a dream where nothing is as it seems and we can only expect the unexpected. Endtrip is an animated short film that focuses on an artistic impression of the drug-fueled trip, offering a glimpse into what we think such an event could look like. Endtrip shows the effects of drugs from the perspective of a girl who overdoses. The exploration into the girl’s drug-induced hallucinations pulls you into mind-expanding worlds through its stereoscopic 3D images and together with the protagonist we explore her innermost thoughts and feelings in a story of euphoria, fear, life and death.
About the Director
Koen de Mol, Rick Franssen and Olivier Ballast are three graduated (ex)students who decided to create an out of the ordinary short film. Endtrip is a graduation project that marks the end of four years at the University of Arts Utrecht. Now they have been released into the wild, and each has their own specialty in 3D and visual effects. At the beginning of 2015 they have started a new creative visual effects and animation production studio called ‘The Outpost’ and are ready to conquer the world.
