New York Combat for Screen and Stage is a company and network of both union and non-union performers, instructors and directors ready to assist your project. With Fight Coordination through NYCSS, we are committed to helping your project succeed regardless of budget.
Instructor Jared Kirby has been involved in Combat for Screen & Stage and Western Martial Arts for nearly 25 years. He teaches in New York City (and the metro area) and has choreographed fights Off-Broadway, Nationally, in London and Sydney.
Classes are available for Screen & Stage Combat – Learn the skills needed to perform extraordinary fights in ongoing classes which offer individualized training. In addition, Jared teaches traditional Classical & Historical Fencing as well as Personal Defense & Knife. Come study a variety of historical European weapons or unarmed arts.
Training can be done in a variety of ways to suit the student:
- Private Lessons – Training one-on-one with an instructor is the fastest way to learn. This is understood in voice, music and many other arts. Imagine trying to take a group piano lesson! Inquire for more details.
- Group Classes – Much more cost effective, training is done over a longer period of time. The NYC Combat for Screen & Stage class is a great place to get started or in NJ you can study here.
- Master Classes/Seminars – An intensive group training can be done anywhere. It could 2 hours in addition to your acting program’s curriculum, 10 hours over a weekend, or anything in between. A good example of this are the monthly Sunday Seminars or the NYCSS Screen & Stage Combat Summer Intensive.
- Team Building Workshops – By interacting on a different level your employees will build better relationships, become more comfortable with each other and establish a foundation of trust that will help them succeed in the workplace.
