NY Action Actors Academy / (ASC) Action Scene Combat Productions: Founded by Demetrius Angelo, a 30 plus year veteran of the Martial Arts and Fitness industry and an Independent Film fighter/ fight choreographer for more than 20 years. Demetrius’s passion for the Martial Arts and the Action Film genre along with observing the void of ethnic action hero’s in Media are what inspired his film making career in the late 90’s.
Demetrius’s zeal to see more of a multicultural balance in lead roles in films, especial Action Films, spawned the establishment of the NYC Action Actors Academy Screen Fighting and Tactical Weapons training featuring the Action Scene Combat system.
The Action Scene Combat training system was developed to efficiently train actors to perform choreographed fight scenes preparing actors to gain a competitive edge in today’s action oriented film and television industry. Blockbuster films like The Matrix, Resident Evil, GI Joe, Kill Bill, Total Recall, Blade, Colombiana as well as TV shows like Battle Star Galactica, Nikita, Super Natural, Covert Affairs Alias, 24, Revolution, Arrow and the like have all established the birth of a new genre of actors, the Action Actor!
The Action Actor is capable of doing limited stunt work and fight choreography, maximizing individual on-screen time and production efficiency.
