In the very VERY beginning – before becoming butter-cookie big shots – we started out testing (and tasting) more than 400 recipes in Augustin’s little kitchen and Michel’s mother’s slightly larger kitchen. We did everything ourselves, from choosing and buying the ingredients, to creating the recipes, to baking and delivering the cookies.
In the very beginning, we whipped up our cookies in a little barkery on rue des Martyrs in Paris, which Arnaud lent to us at night and on Tuesdays (the day it was closed). We then moved on to a bakery on rue Daval. Next, Marie-Claire et Joel – the nicest cookie-makers ever – let us use their laboratory on the weekends to work on our little round butter cookies. And boy was it work. We would set out Friday night, then on Sunday – VERY late – we would pack the kangoo (best car ever!) full of butter cookies and head back to Paris, totally drained.
The quality of our creations is our ABSOLUTE priority. We strive to offer you MAXIMUM taste, with minimum preservatives. But it takes good ingredients to make delicious and healthy products!
