Steven De Castro is a New York-based cinematographer. His first feature film, Fred Ho’s Last Year, garnered multiple awards and screened in film festivals across the United States. In 2017, the U.S. Embassy sponsored him to teach a master class in cinematography for film students in three major universities in Ghana, West Africa. In his current project, De Castro shot an entire feature on a GoPro camera, immersing the audience amidst the armed revolutionaries of the New People’s Army in the Philippines. Before he was a filmmaker, De Castro was a trial lawyer and served as Human Rights Commissioner of Jersey City.
