May Daishi was born in Osaka, Japan and currently lives in New York City. She is a Music producer/artist.
May started playing music by learning the organ at the age of 4. A year later, she joined a marching band as a drummer at her day nursery. She started learning Electone (Electronic Organ) at Yamaha music school and one of her original songs was nominated for the Yamaha kids original contest in Osaka.
When May started going to middle school, she decided to pick up acoustic/electric guitar and singing because rock music inspired her. She started playing gigs with her own band playing her original songs. She also played in an acoustic duo. At the age of 17, she started learning sound engineering by volunteering at an established venue, where she also frequently played with her band. Right after she graduated from high school, May moved out to Los Angeles, where many of her popular music influences were from. She decided to pursue her sound engineering career while continuing her artistic career as a singer-songwriter, guitarist and composer and has assisted a session as a assistant producer/sound engineer with John Feldmman, Tommy D. Daugherty, and more…
May relocated to New York from Los Angeles recently to pursue career as a rapper while continue working as a sound engineer and also a Hiphop/Pop producer. She’s recently produced KIKUMARU from Kandy Town (Warner bros. JAPAN) and many artists and also she has been featured on many tracks with Japanese artists even though her rap career has just started. She is the best up-coming artist in 2017 and is growing fast.
