Lauren Debellis Aviv, Partner, represents foreign nationals seeking employment and family-based visas. She focuses on obtaining visas for individuals of extraordinary ability, and for entertainment/music companies, the film/TV industry, theatres, dance companies, advertising/digital agencies, and start-ups. Before practicing immigration law, Lauren practiced criminal defense trial law at The Legal Aid Society in Manhattan, which provided her with the unique skills and background to advise foreign nationals and criminal defense attorneys regarding the intersection between criminal and immigration law.

Lauren frequently lectures on immigration law issues before AILA and other prestigious organizations and universities. She is rated a Super Lawyer* in the New York Metro Area. Lauren is committed to pro bono work and from 2008 to 2011 served as the Co-Chair of the American Immigration Lawyers Association’s (“AILA”) NY Chapter’s Pro Bono Committee. She also served as a liaison on AILA’s National Pro Bono Committee. She is currently heading the NYC Immigration Action Group, which is part of the Action Group Network founded by Beau Willimon (Creator of “House of Cards”) in response to the 2016 US Presidential Election. She received her J.D. from Brooklyn Law School and her B.S. from Syracuse University. She is admitted to practice law in New York and New Jersey.
