About the Director
Huriyyah Muhammad is an award-winning director, writer and producer whose projects have been invited to Sundance, Blackfest, Newfest, Outfest, AFI, Austin Film Festival, New Voices in Black Cinema and many others. She’s a director in the AFI DWW with her film, ‘Chocolate With Sprinkles’, a recipient of the SFFILM Rainin Grant for Screenwriting, and Black List Feature Residency. Huriyyah’s work invites audiences on a journey as she tackles tough subjects – death, divorce, eviction – with humor and heart.
