Jacob, an immigrant from the Ivory Coast in his early forties, is the manager of a trendy New York bar. Having surrendered to the fast and easy life of the megalopolis, he womanizes freely using his charm and a fantasized notion of his power as a traditional African ‘healer’. When Stacy asks Jacob to help Daniel, the tormented son of her friend Alima, also an immigrant from Ivory Coast, Jacob reluctantly agrees. Jacob and Daniel embark on a journey through the streets of Manhattan. They have difficulty dealing with each other at first. But as their urban adventure continues – evoking the odyssey of a father and son – Jacob and Daniel manage to understand each other and exorcise the most intimate pains of their pasts.
