‘Robot Dreams Made Flesh’ is an optical FX experiment combining time lapse photography with in-camera multiple exposures on 16mm film using Bolex cameras and an Oxberry animation stand. The subject is model maker/animator Michael Sullivan at work on his stop motion opus ‘The Sex Life of Robots’.

About the Director

Robert Lyons is an animation artist with a history in photographic and optical special effects who has worked with many of NYC’s most prominent production houses. In 1992, he founded his own animation/effects company, Interface Arts. Currently, he is working as a media arts professor at Pratt Institute and The University of the Arts teaching film and animation courses while also creating his own independent animation, documentary, and experimental films.
