Maria is eight years old. She’ s growing up poor. When her violent stepfather is hospitalized after a heart attack and Maria’ s mother is unable to cope, the girl starts praying – although that’ s strange even to herself. A Marian apparition brings her an ally, or is it just a delusion?
About the Director
Elmar Freels was born in 1968 and studied History and Romanistics. He worked in light entertainment, then moved to London, where he wrote songs and played guitar in a German-American punk band and toured Europe, Balkan and the USA (CBGB´s!). Back to Cologne, he produces and directs tv-format programs about cultural differences. Elmar is currently preparing his feature film debut.
