The Final Note is a portrait of a rambling, hole-in-the wall warehouse in the South Bronx cluttered with 400-odd pianos and peopled by the eccentric characters who restore them. This short documentary film touches on the decline of a once-majestic instrument and the high craft of piano restoration.
About the Director
Mayeta Clark is based in New York City where she works as narrative journalist and director of photography. Her current documentary work focuses on contemporary social, health and environmental issues.
Mayeta studied documentary filmmaking, photography, narrative writing and investigative reporting at Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. She read Sanskrit and Anthropology at the University of Sydney.
