Award Winning Artist & Educator Viktor Koen Designs the 2014 Winter Film Awards Official Poster

2014 WFA Ind Film FestivalWINTER FILM AWARDS (WFA) and Award Winning Artist & Educator VIKTOR KOEN unveil the Official 2014 Festival Poster Art.  Koen’s “Winter Statue” is the face of the Winter Film Awards for 2014, and will be showcased at the WFA 2014 Independent Film Festival being held February 26th to March 1st, 2014 in New York City.

“Viktor is a compelling and engaging artist whose passion and unique vision are not just memorable but imprints a lingering impression on the subconscious,” said board member Joseph Mauceri.  “We are honored that he has taken time from his hectic schedule to design this poster for us.”

WINTER FILM AWARDS (WFA) is a minority- and women-owned 501(c)3 non-profit (pending) organization with outreach to all NYC film schools, colleges, arts high schools and many cultural societies.   WFA celebrates diversity of local and international film-making with a focus is on showcasing emerging filmmakers from every age, ethnic, racial, religious, cultural, political and geographic perspective and providing a stepping stone for filmmakers  to screen their work in front of a large audience and gain recognition for their achievements.   The annual Independent Film Festival highlights a dynamic range of talent and storytelling capabilities of the independent filmmaking community, bringing the audience compelling and unique content that inspires viewers and honors the filmmakers.

 viktor_koenVIKTOR KOEN is an award winning artist and educator. He holds a BFA from the Bezalel Academy of Arts & Design in Jerusalem, Israel and an MFA with honors from the School of Visual Arts. Mr. Koen serves on the faculty of the School of Visual Arts in the Graduate and Undergraduate levels. His images are regularly published in The NYTimes, Wall Street Journal and Nature magazine. His client list includes Penguin, Random House, Doubleday, Harper Collins, Rizzoli, Houghton Miflin, Tor, Time, Newsweek, Esquire, National Geographic, Rolling Stone, Wired, ESPN, Man’s Journal, Bloomberg, Fortune, Money, Forbes, Nation, BusinessWeek. His prints are exhibited in galleries and museums in the United States, Europe, Japan and Australia.
