Isla comes home to find social workers at her door. After talking to her mom, Isla learns they want to take her away because her mother is not fit to care for her. Thinking she can help her mom get better, Isla takes her to a secret play spot to enjoy the afternoon together. On their way home, Isla is injured while Annie is distracted, bringing another round of social workers' threats. The next morning, Isla leaves a clue for her mother and runs away to her secret spot, hoping to reunite and stay together.
